MFI-Boston is an independent compliance company created by the need to determine if a homeowner was a victim of fraudulent mortgage practices.
We review loan documents from the origination and servicing phases of a mortgage. While doing so, we determine if the mortgage complies with federal and state law. Then we compile our findings in a report. MFI-Boston provides homeowners with this report, which can be given to attorneys for foreclosure defense or to negotiate a loan modification.
The History of MFI-Boston
Since opening in January of 2009, MFI-Boston has expanded its service offerings to law firms specializing in loan modifications and foreclosure defense. These firms now comprise up to 90% of our business.
MFI-Boston and its sister company, MFI-Miami, have become nationally-recognized leaders for investigating mortgage fraud, mortgage compliance, and predatory lending.
Our Expertise
Unlike most of our competitors, we conduct our compliance evaluations and fraud investigations manually. Why? Well, our attorney clients like having an experienced mortgage professional examine loan documents. We can serve as expert witnesses and consultants.
We also do what automated software can’t do. We conduct a thorough investigation. Most of the automated software that our competitors use is not designed to be quite that diligent.
Our reputation as a leader in compliance examination has allowed MFI-Boston and MFI-Miami to expand into multiple U.S. cities.
